Digital Archiving Policy
The Scinex Journal of Advanced Sciences is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. This Archiving Policy ensures that all scholarly work remains available to the academic community, researchers, and the general public indefinitely, even in the event of technological, institutional, or operational changes.
Purpose and Scope
Archiving preserves the integrity, accessibility, and citation of published research. Scinex Journal of Advanced Sciences archiving procedures cover all articles, supplementary materials, and metadata, ensuring that they remain accessible and discoverable for current and future readers. The policy applies to both online and digital content hosted by the journal.
Archiving Platforms
Scinex Journal of Advanced Sciences employs trusted digital repositories and archiving systems to store and preserve its content. Articles are deposited in internationally recognized platforms such as Internet Archive, LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), and institutional repositories, where available. These repositories provide secure, long-term storage, ensuring the content remains accessible even if the journal platform changes or experiences technical disruptions.
Formats and Preservation
All published articles are stored in stable, machine-readable formats (e.g., PDF/A, XML) suitable for long-term preservation. Supplementary materials, datasets, and multimedia files are also archived in formats that maximize usability and longevity. The journal regularly reviews technological standards to ensure archived content remains compatible with evolving systems and software.
Access and Availability
Archived content is fully accessible in accordance with the journal’s Open Access Policy. Readers and researchers can retrieve all articles and supplementary materials without subscription or login requirements. Persistent identifiers, such as DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers), are assigned to all articles to ensure reliable citation and retrieval over time.
Responsibilities
The editorial office is responsible for managing and maintaining the journal’s archiving processes. This includes monitoring repository status, verifying content integrity, updating formats as needed, and ensuring that metadata remains accurate. Authors are responsible for ensuring that any supplementary materials submitted are suitable for long-term preservation.
Retention and Continuity
Scinex Journal of Advanced Sciences is committed to retaining all published content permanently. In case of organizational or technical changes, the journal ensures continuity by transferring archived content to alternative trusted repositories. In addition, digital backups are maintained to protect against data loss due to technical failures, cyber threats, or natural disasters.
Authors may deposit and make publicly available all versions of their work, including the submitted preprint, the Author Accepted Manuscript and the final published Version of Record.
Authors may deposit these versions in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, personal websites, funder-designated repositories and non-commercial academic networks.
No embargo period applies. Authors do not require prior permission from the journal, provided that the deposited version includes complete citation information and, for the Version of Record, a link to the article’s official journal page or DOI where available.
All deposited Versions of Record remain subject to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence.
Authors are encouraged to indicate clearly which manuscript version has been deposited to prevent confusion between the submitted, accepted and published versions.
Ethical and Legal Compliance
Archiving practices comply with intellectual property laws, licensing agreements, and copyright policies. Content archived under open-access licenses, such as CC BY 4.0, allows for continued distribution, reuse, and preservation without violating author rights.
